NTRGN
What treasures lie below?
Background.
NTRGN was developed during the BaconGameJam #9 with the theme depth.
As a former hobbyist diver, my mind went straight to diving. While I was developing the concept, I made the connection between the excitement of exploring and the risk of nitrogen poisoning, especially when diving deeper.
I had a lot of fun working on this game over the 48h hour jam. After submitting the game, I received some great feedback, some of which was incredibly obvious after having caught up on some sleep. I ended up spending some more time polishing the game and making some improvements after the game jam had ended.
I thoroughly enjoyed creating the interface and working with a black and white base, adding colours only to indicate the different resources/elements.
Iām very proud of this project in particular as everything, visuals and gameplay, came together nicely. Even the music fits perfectly. I hope to one day go back and improve it even further, and possibly publish it.
Play.
NTRGN (Nitrogen) is a game about risk and reward. Will you risk getting nitrogen poisoning by going for that extra treasure?
Dive down deep to explore treasures, gamble your life by risking nitrogen poisoning and maybe even the effects of the drugs you consume to aid you. How deep can you go?
Use the arrow keys to control the diver and the e key to interact with chests and to continue your dive after visiting the shop.
Unfortunately the game is currently not available to play online.
Tools.
The artwork and interface was created in Adobe illustrator and exported as raster images.
The game was created in Unity3D in C#.
